Pipejacking and Microtunnelling

Pipejacking and Microtunnelling are a technique used for installing underground pipelines, ducts and culverts from launch shafts to reception shafts. Normally installations of less than 900mm internal diameter are described as a Microtunnel, with larger diameters being categorized as Pipejacks. The method comprises powerful hydraulic jacks pushing off a substantial back thrust wall, used to push specially designed pipes through the ground at the same time as excavation is taking place from within a shield at the front of the pipeline. The method provides a finished pipeline as the tunnel is excavated.

The line and level of any installed Microtunnel or Pipejack by Euro Iseki Overseas ( Thailand ) Ltd is controlled by a laser guidance system ensuring a high degree of engineering accuracy. Clients will usually specify tolerances of 50mm for line and level.
